Call for papers and posters is OPEN

The CAA Tübingen 2018 call for papers and posters is OPEN and will remain open until 11:59 PM CET the 29th of October (Sunday).
Please go to the OCS website to log-in and submit your paper or poster abstract clicking here, or by clicking on the Submissions/Registration tab above. You will need to log-in: go to User Home, click on CAA 2018 and then look for the Submission link at the bottom of the page under the Conference Information header. You can select your session from the Track drop-down menu.
You will find a list of the proposed sessions (called “Tracks” in OCS) on this website. When you click on a track you will be taken to the abstract for the session. If you would like to read all the track abstracts, you can find them at the bottom of the page or you can download a PDF of the abstracts. If you do not find a track that fits your proposed paper, please select the General Papers session option. The local organisers with CAA´s Scientific Committee will regroup these papers to new meaningful sessions.
Given the various formats of the proposed sessions, there is no standard paper length. Instead, the length of your paper will be decided by the track director. Please indicate the corresponding author if there is more than one author. CAA allows one corresponding author for each paper, and the corresponding author must be a member of CAA International before the conference begins. It is expected that the corresponding author will present the paper at the conference. The corresponding author does not necessarily have to be the first author. CAA allows an individual to be the corresponding author for only one paper and to be the first author for only one paper, author on multiple papers and may also serve in other capacities (e.g., session organiser, roundtable discussant, panelist, lighting/flash talk presenter, poster presenter, etc…).

If you are proposing a poster, please select the General Poster session option.
Abstracts for papers and posters should be no more 250 words excluding session title, author names, affiliations, and email addresses and 3 – 5 keywords. Please note, the official language of the conference is English and all submissions should be in English. If English is not your first language, it is strongly suggested that you have a fluent English speaker review your abstract before submission.

Call for sessions open!

The call for sessions opens today, the 13th of July, and will remain open until the 10th of September.  Please go to the OCS website to log-in and submit your session abstract. The link above should take you directly to the submission page.  You can also click on the Submissions/Registration tab above.  You will need to log-in, go to User Home, click on CAA 2018 and then look for the Submission link at the bottom of the page under the Conference Information header.

There are three different session formats that you can choose from – 1) “Other” – this is an open format that is at the discretion of the session organizer(s).  The CAA International Scientific Committee is encouraging creative new session formats to create a dynamic environment for sharing projects and ideas.  We ask that the session organizer(s) include a short description of what the session format would look like.  This could include sessions that have short presentations accompanied by posters or digital posters followed by an open discussion or the session could be focused on actively solving a digital archaeology problem.  It is important to stress, that individuals participating in these alternative formats will still have a chance to submit a paper for inclusion in the published proceedings. 2) “Roundtable/Panel” – this is a session format where the session organizer(s) present a position paper in advance of the conference and invite participants to discuss the topic in an open format.  3) “Standard Session” – this is your typical session that is composed of 15 or 25 minute papers presented by the participants.

Each session organizer(s) has 500 words including session title, author names, affiliations, and email addresses and 3 – 5 keywords.  Organizers of “Other” sessions are given 600 words so that they can describe the session format.  Please indicate the corresponding author if there is more than one organizer.  Remember, the official language of the conference is English and all submissions should be in English.  If English is not your first language, it is strongly suggested that you have a fluent English speaker review your abstract before submission.
